All of us at IPTC are deeply saddened and shocked at the news of Andy's passing. He was a key contributor to IPTC's work through his time at Reuters and then the BBC for twenty years, and he approached everything with an enthusiastic and pragmatic attitude. He was a great cheerleader for IPTC, bringing us in touch with several of his contacts at media companies and getting us involved with new projects, encouraging his BBC colleagues to come to speak at IPTC events, and pushing for collaborations between members and working groups. His friendly (but always questioning) presence and dry humour at our meetings will be sorely missed.
